Pavlov First State Medical University of St Petersburg
Pavlov University was founded in 1897 in St. Petersburg, Russia. It became the first medical academic institution in Europe to allow women to receive general and specialized medical education. The university nurtured many women scientists.
In 1908, the first X-ray room for radiology and cancer treatment started working at the university.

Dental education
Study in dentistry is five years. Students start practical work in their field from the first year. Dental courses include head and neck anatomy, physiology, histology, microbiology, pathology and pathophysiology.
Medical education
Study in medicineis six years. Basic science courses include chemistry, physics, biology, human body anatomy, histology, physiology, microbiology, biochemistry, pathophysiology, pharmacology and public health.
